Amused to hear that Kenny Dalglish began today's press
conference by asking Sky's VinnOConnor if he was ok with a female journo
being in the room
Dalglish was asked about Adam: "Told you before. When
we've got business to discuss we will. Not going to disrespect other clubs."
Hodgson got 2 things right ; Raul and he left us,,,,
Kenny's leadership and the coaching unit has improved all the players performances
individually within a cohesive team performance, Poulsen, hit a good pass
to get Raul
(the new "Terry Mac"?) in to set up Torres (please dont keep calling him
"the spaniard")
.. all our midfield players were encouraged to join attacking moves, so refreshing..
That was a LIVERPOOL
performance! (we played like our teams 20+ years ago

, pass & move, incisive attack , i am still laughing my socks off!

great to see,
theres still people having a "pop" but the way we defended as one, attacked

The political correctness of society is as hypocritical as the media &
the referees/judges
within it, & can be humourous to comment on , but the sky banality
is many ways
reflects the bigotry in society that incredibily still exists in year 2011!
, a subtle form of
discrimination,
and occasional mild xenophobia that identifies Torres as "the spaniard"
annoying
rather than vindictive, I dont see how any of us could be surprised by
anything
in
the media any more, never mind reps of "SLY tv" ..& .their obvious
anti-Lfc bias.
mind you
i am betting they wont get a 10,000 quid fine! (a la Babel)

LESSons in Life as In football?
I feel the "hype"
of modern footy pumped up by media that wants constant new headlines
affects the fans now
so much that I have seen so many forums ridiculously filled with
"speculation" &
rumours it has its ownmomentum. I cant imagine how fans today would
have "coped" at the
time when I was a lad. We only had a monthy football magazine and
one hour a week
on "Match of the day" to catch up with the football world,
apart from
going to the game and the occasional back page item about an ACTUAL
transfer (not
gossip). Fans may become "disappointed" because many of them play video
footy whereby they
can just transfer players in and out without any REAL aspects.
Thankfully football
is still played by human beings, clubs are still affected by REALITY.
The REALITY being
that the changes in UEFA/FIFA rules, and financial constraints will
reflect even the richest
clubs spending. I am sure Kenny (being a Scot) will be "canny "
with our spending,
anyway. This may be a fine lesson for all our fans to learn, as much
as the management
of football clubs, young or old. to be more careful with money and
do more to encourage
the development & growth of "grass roots" football, and a lesson
in life that
sometimes we must wait for what we want.
Babel started
to put some effort in but the guy did nt fit until now , Kenny is bringing
a
team ethic back
on & off the field , I saw a lot of Suarez when I lived in holland,
looks
good in that
league, but so did Babel..Ajax are being greedy..i am happy with what
Kennys doing,
and i am not sure accomodating another "big ego" is too wise when we are
doing so much
to get the mentality right again?

(thanks to "Mr D" @ RAWK) for the above. IF
there Is a positive to come out of CRISIS it is that we can end this stupidity
of the "money game" that the likes of the Mancs, Citeh, MADrid & Cheslki
almost sucked us into , and naive or fickle fans woudl have us follow..to
treat footy like one of the computer games where you just paste in the
super star player & "voila" instant success...IF we can avoid the NOISE
of the masses urged on by biased media who love a headline (and not the
ideals of steady yet discrete progress to the top) and back Kenny and the
guys RAFA brought to the club, and when the anti-rafa brigade also "see
the light" will see the chance to re-build the club on and off the field..
if only Henry stops listening to explayers , media/pundits & fans who
are feeding him the wrong advice and makes a partnership with Global REDS
THEN I am sure we shall realise the power that our global basis gives us
and prove that WE are the GREATEST SPORTS club in THE WORLD!
I saw a lot of Suarez when I lived in Holland, of course its a different prospect to score in the EPL compared to the dutch league, but he has style and could cause problems for defenders ..I was one of the few that did NOT get "excited" by cole coming to anfield..didnt like him then and 6 months later....? I wont complain if this overpaid guy goes with hodgson back to london, and whilst i appreciate and respect Kenny saying he wants to give every squad player their chance, I am not convinced konch & poulsen deserve more chances than some of our youth or fringe players, this is difficult times but on the other side has given the chance for the likes of Kelly, Spearing, Jonjo and Pacheco etc to stake a claim ..whatever I am confident that Kenny is improving the situation 200% after the dark days of hodgson..now Kenny and the "new bootroom" has a week to focus players on the game @ wolves....100% support for whoever he chooses! Ask a Kopite to name Rafael Benitez's crowning achievement
at Liverpool Football
Club and more often than not the reply will be delivered along with a quizzical
and
sarcastic expression that Scousers could trademark. Our fifth European
Cup, they'll tell
you; As if you needed to ask, they might add. Certain events or figures
in history become
so mythical in our perception that they can be referred to in just a single
word: Watergate,
Woodstock, Elvis. On May 25 2005, Benitez masterminded a sporting comeback
that saw
the word Istanbul added to this list - if only in the minds of football
fans.
What occurred in the Ataturk would arguably have been the high point of
any Liverpool
manager's reign, a remarkable achievement which re-established the club
as a European
power and a global brand. But there is a case to suggest that one aspect
of the Benitez
legacy could yet prove just as significant in the club's future. Namely
the revolution
he instigated and oversaw at The Academy in the summer of 2009. Of course
it is still too
early to judge, but anyone who has witnessed the work being done by Pep
Segura, Rodolfo
Burrell and Frank McParland (all three appointed by Benitez) over in Kirkby
cannot fail to
have been impressed. Watching the U18s dispatch a talented Crystal Palace
side
(who themselves dismantled Arsenal's class of 2011) in the Youth Cup two
weeks ago was
a joy for advocates of pass and move football.
Refer to the CVs of Segura and
Borrell and the jigsaw pieces start to fit together. The pair, during their
time at Barcelona, helped nurture technically gifted players like Andres
Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Bojan Krkic, Cesc Fabregas and Lionel Messi - all
of whom revel in playing the kind of dynamic football which, albeit in
a raw, unrefined form, is now being executed at The Academy. The likes
of Suso, Raheem Sterling and Conor Coady have so far hogged the headlines,
but earlier this season a total of 25 Academy hopefuls received international
youth call-ups. Two years ago you could have counted the number of LFC
youngsters asked to represent their country on one hand. With fingers to
spare. Credit too has to go to the likes of McParland for moderating expectations
and for ensuring media coverage is both cautious and fairly apportioned.
Too often in the past we've allowed ourselves to get too excited too soon.
Two examples that come to mind are Lauri Dalla Valle and Astrit Ajdarevic,
both of whom left the club after failing to live up to their early hype.
These days nobody is allowed
to get carried away. Even if there is a decent case for doing so.
One thing is for sure, though: if some of the players now shining at youth
level go
on to become the next Steven Gerrards and Jamie Carraghers, it'll not only
be those
still employed by the club who take the credit. (jimmy Rice)

my hope that the media induced antirafa campaign is eventually resolved
by more
and more people
realising what rafa did , not only with the team when he was hampered by
the previous "owners"
but other off-field problems that will come to light..He
not only
brought in Pep Segura,
Rodolfo Burrell and Frank McParland but our current hopes are
rightly pinned
on Kenny turning our season round and he wouldnt be here either if Rafa
hadnt brought
him back..and therefore I would hope that some arrangement can be made
to return the
compliment because Rafa is fare too valuable to be lost to Lfc.
Much has been made of alledged "failed signings" but
we should remember that the players who took us to be Number ONE CLUB in
europe (according to UEFA stats) were his signings; Reina; Agger, Torres,
Mascherano, Garcia, Alonso etc. etc even Stevie & carra improved with
Benitez ; Carras psitioning and Stevies goal-scoring flourishing through
Rafas coaching methods. Those of us who enjoyed the heady away days of
Madrid, Barca, Milan, Marseille etc, wont rest until Rafa becomes aclaimed
and returns home to the club.

Kennys press conferences / interviews ; Its like having
one of us in the room, having had to put up with so much media BS in recent
years, a sort of revenge! ;)
Dalglish says Ryan Babel is going nowhere. When began
today asking Sky's VinnOConnor if he was ok with a female journo being
in the room Kennys showing us the way to deal with the media domination,
their assumption that because they have access to our living rooms that
gives them some sort of authority. pundits who could hack it as top managers,
get paid enormous salaries, yet with all their technical aides many of
our core supporters are more knowledgable!
Hodgson got 2 things right ; Raul AND he left us,,,,
Kenny's leadership and the coaching unit has improved alll the players...
http://tinyurl.com/4ltbedk
Poulsen by association with hodgson came in for rightful criticism but
in Kennys
team he looks a much better player... http://tinyurl.com/4nr33pr
There
is a positive feeling worldwide, maybe we can get away from the "buying
success"
mentality
& "grow our own" well done to Kenny, & the coaching staff - fans
know better
than explayers,
credit Rafa he brought in Pep Segura, Rodolfo Burrell, Frank McParland
& KENNY back!
Some talk rubbish
about "what if we sign players a different manager dont want"
but... IF (big
IF) a new manager comes in the summer he gets the squad whether
players signed
now or they if have been here a while! Does it really matter if the players
have been here
a while or not? Kenny seems to have proved that one to be a myth!
If you listen
to explayers agenda its a wonder that Rafa won so many trophies with all
the mistakes
they blame him for. Dirk salutes the 'Dutch style' Kenny Dalglish has brought
to training at Melwood.

is wrong about Barca, TEAM is the operative word, and we had

I dont think
they would fancy going to grounds like @ boro, wolves, stoke etc and have
their sweeties
kicked from ********** to breakfast time!
I tried to explain to young people many times
football is not about having the most expensive players...there are many
aspects to bring the best otf individuals within a collective force to
re-create a LIVERPOOL performance! (we played like our teams 20+
years ago,(solid defence, ball winning , pass & move, incisive attacking
as a unit) the support coming from our away fans was like the Liverpool
of old I am laughing my socks off @ all the fools who told us our
squad was cr*p who are gonna have to eat their words! the way we defended
as one, attacked in force, and scored the 3rd after about 30+ passes, says
so much about what kenny brings back to the team, confidence and trust
in each other.. personally i dont slate our players, no one should who
claims to be a true supporter, the team is not playing "fixed" under Kenny,
but pretty sure that if Kenny starts him v fuham the midfield 3 will be
Raul, Lucas & Stevie, at home v fulham the emphasis will be even more
offensive. I have had this discussion a thousand times with
younger fans, we are NOT the same as citeh, manUre chelski etc , we support
our team, the hodgson days are gone, he was a fraud and deserves the criticism,
but we back now with the mentality that the original kopites grew up with
and if anyone in those days foul-mouthed our players they would have been
outed!
(rawk) .. I think there has been
a visible improvement in how we play and long
may it continue. The third goal against Wolves was a joy to watch and i
was counting
each pass hoping it would end with a goal. The one touch passing along
the floor, the
small triangles, the pass and move philosphy was evident yesterday afternoon.
My only
gripe was the lack of appreciation from the media, match of the day barely
showed any
of the play leading up to the goal. Had this been ManUre then without doubt
it would
have been a goal of the decade contender. Oh and Kuyt had the last touch
for the third
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is keen for the club to rediscover the
style of their
glory days - as it is the only way he knows how to play football. The success
of the late 70s
and through the 1980s was built on the pass-and-move doctrines instigated
by Bill Shankly
and Bob Paisley. Dalglish flourished as a player in those teams and tried
to continue the
legacy in his first spell as manager. The
game may have moved on since the last time he was
Reds boss nearly 20 years ago but, particularly in the last couple of years,
Liverpool's play
ing style became more structured and solid with less focus on attack and
flair. In the three
matches Dalglish has been in charge since taking over from Hodgson there
has been a
noticeable difference within the team of a move towards a more upbeat,
positive approach.
Not all of that is just down just to the mere presence
of a club legend in the dugout, it is a
conscious decision by Dalglish to fill his players with the knowledge and
expertise he
learned when he wore the Reds' famous number seven shirt. Asked if it was
important to
rediscover the attitude Shankly introduced at the club the 59-year-old
Scot said:
"Well, it has never gone for me. "It would be nice
if we could get back to that, on the pitch especially. Pass-and-move isn't
old fashioned, it's the Liverpool way.
"That's the way I was brought up and I don't think
I could change. I think that's the way the players would like to play as
well. "It's great for the fans to watch and you can't underestimate their
role in it as well.
"If the players know that the fans are behind them it doesn't half help them.
"Everyone has to play their role. We have to lift the fans. If the staff, the owners and everyone else sing from the same hymn sheet, which we are doing, then I'm sure we have happier days ahead of us.
