"its not the goals in our life, but the way we deal with the obstructions along the way that define our mentality dignity and character"

....its as important as winning or losing; how we deal with "those 2 imposters" ...when reluctantly applauding Leeds or Arsenal winning titles @ our anfield home, singing "YNWA" @  h-t in the Attaturk, or the way we were celebrating later that night or the many trophies of our incomparable history

whatever was then, whatever is now...the future is OURS by being different from the rest ;

......................and never forgetting ;   WE ARE Liverpool!

....are you??

DIGNITY in DIVORCE?

is it possible to keep one's dignity when someone you love seems to have betrayed all the promise that once made you feel so good?

The recent departure of "our Kid" ("El Nino" now names "El Ninny" by some Lfc fans) hurt, yeah, me too, for lots of reasons not the least because it could have been avoided.....

I have been Divorced, several times ; in marriage and in partnerships of different kinds ; I have been on the inside, the outside, i have been "guilty" , a "victim" and also a councillor to others dealing with the pain & problems of unwanted seperation or breakdown of intimate relationships private and public, and contracts of almost global consequences.

Very few are totally innocent; often the victims are naive, or complacent. Sometimes there are "third parties|" that seduces one or the other into breaking trust. There are "lawyers" who often exagerate problems to make money, and stoke the fires of hate. There are "friends" who suddenly tell one or the other that "they always knew he/she was bad" and will go into fine detail of all those weaknesses that yesterday werenot apparent, there are a few people who attempt to make sense of it all, so that everyone can move on, such is life. I am a spiritual rather than biblical person, but at times like these profound words enter my head ; "ye without sin cast the first stone.."

In  our case there are so many more aspects to take into account when we are the vital key to the most important entity, in the most important league in the world greatest activity

*The History & society
*Liverpool fc - "the office , Suits & accesoriesco"
*The media (& internet)
*The "Fans"
*Fernando Torres
*Opponents
*The "Holy Trinity" ; SUPPORTers, Kenny and the Team (players squad)
*The Future

In my previous CLUBLOG I asked for "perspective" (and Dignity) The full story wil be published in book form, at the appropriate time, this is my "opinion" based on research, actual news, information obtained at source and my own involvement with Lfc; SoS/ShareLfc, the media & global business community, some of it is not new, nor unique, but I doubt if anyone has a more complate picture :-

The History , global Society, and the BIG REdS family...

I dont need to repeat our history, you all know it, or should there are enough sources, one could argue too many, as now every fan and his dog has a blog, me included, <smile> but if that makes us think, when we write, a little bit deeper than the average spectator, then its maybe not a bad thing..Society went from nomads, to slaves to monarchy, through domination by church, industrial "revolution", and political-national seperation & identity, world wars and local &/or ethnic conflicts, as I now complete my "knowledge" of Europe in the Balkans, it makes it even more clear and VITAL that "the Liverpool way" continues...which exploded into an eternal dynasty thanks to the phenomenon of Shanks, music and football creating the "bigger bang" of Liverpool, in the sixties. Having spent most of my life "abroad" its sometimes easier to look from a distance at our club, and apprecaite the immense global power we have and the RESPONSIBILITY that goes with it.

Liverpool fc - "the office , Suits & accesories incorporated"

Elsewhere, (such as the "blocked-blog"  which was "frozen" months ago, &  recently  /BLOOD_RED_SUNday written just before the "deadline day drama")
I have started to open up the problems of Lfc, a club that requires the BEST management , and almost cost the lives of our team managers on more than one occasion, has , especially in this last decade had to suffer more than its fair share of fools & deliberate or accidental "saboteurs" :-

Moores - failing to sell to a legitimate buyer, (he should have sold it to us!)
Parry - for his part in that and for attempting to manage a global concern like an accountant, and failing, when needed, to back Rafa.
Hicks & co - more to come on the depth of this "swamp" not least the links to Bush, the "previous" of what any social-minded person considers as "legalised fraud"  the "con" of the leveraged buy-out
Purslow - who makes Parry look good! , his power play, removal of Rafa, backroom dealings, back-stabbings , failure of targets, employment of Hodgson and transfer dealings, "out of his league"
Broughton - part of the "establishment" could any true KOPite imagine a "rent-boy chairman" ? mis-guided fans called him Hero, after he failed and desperately employed a broker to bring NESV in. CUR, not "Sir(
(the london based politicians probably suggest he get that for F***ing our club up with purslow & hodgson)
Hodgson - the final nail in what could have been a Titanic -like sinking of our club, and it IS our club,  was "ready" to take the job whilst Rafa was there, insulted Supporters, Rafa, Kenny & players; a sick joke!
Henry-Werner(FSG) - Saviours? not yet, should we be thankful? that they employed Comolli?, that they endorsed ("after 10 games") Hodgson, LFC, properly managed, IS worth a billion+, they goy a bargain!
Lfc.tv/ "the office" - Frank C. told me that its clear that they would back whoever was manager. As our media wasnt it more important to respect 95% of the Supporters and stop the pro-hodgson/anti-Rafa "spin"?

( see Potemkin link   )

The media (& internet)

The media are like the lawyers in a divorce, since, probably the days of Shankly , the media have steadily increased their dislike of us, Liverpool people the liberal-socialists, the odd ones, the celtic city of rebels against the english government of Thatcher, and our domination of english & european football. Heysel gave them ammunition, and they took it further with Hillsborough, and our insistence that justice be done, reluctantly broadcasting the 20 year anniversary memorial service. Every event, every game we play, is like a scrap before a flock of vultures, as they seek, any opportunity, to invent headlines that can do down the scallies; the scousers represent the opposite of what the media wants; the erosion of loyalty, the absence of society, the growth of credit, bankers & accountants, lawyers & liars, the Gecko; "greed is good" propaganda, fed to y-our kids

.....the underlying nastiuness of moden "entertainment" ..loadsamoney...the USA started @ ManU , the Abramovich plaything @ chelski...the Premiere League...with arch-demon murdoch's Sky(pro-Manu Sly tv) dictating WHEN games will be played!!

But we have the internet.... dont we?...well we DID, but, since 9/11 antispam functions enable providers (and those who instruct them) to dismantle, disable or disrupt users that challenge the status quo. After 9/11 the "CIA" etc  (their disciples or imposters ; C*nts Idiots & A**holes) invented the name "Al kaida" in its various forms, to justify the Trillion dollar "security measures" (although in 10 years many many, more people have been killed maimed or displaced by uniformed "police actions than terrorists), virtually wiping out the remote chance of human rights being applied, and control of "private" communications is now commonplace. The "dream" of a free and transparent communication for thecommon society, the internet is commercial. The Bush government monitored every "threat" to the capitalist programme..

The "Fans"

As rightly pointed out, Liverpool SUPPORTERS on the original KOP at the time of Shankly were 99% socialist, and during the succesful years on the field the Liverpool people suffered from poltical attack, indusrtial decline we were as opposed as anyone to the right - wing "hooligan" image..I grew up in a socialist family, my mother being regional secretary of the labour party, with good ideals caring for people, basic mentality and certainly noticing that we were unique, our mentality, our songs our common bond with the players, through Shanks, Bob , Joe and ..Kenny became stronger, and stronger, but success took its toll , and so did the move to capitalism, Our days had been filled as kids kicking a ball around, now kids were the children of a richer society, office workers and such, a quasi lower-to-middle class grew, (ironically many of the leaders of hooligan gangs were from middle class, even rich families) London became "trendy" again, the capital of bullsh*te; the bankers, insurance, the "financial services" etc etc.. the technology meant kids had instant access to the world ; from video games , cable TV & then the internet, the line was broken, except @ Liverpool where fathers were clinging on to their own dreams and fighting to instil or maintain the "LIverpool way" in their own kids.

But, the "fast food" generation, who get, more or less, what they want, when they want it, the spoil brats, were infiltrating our "fan base" (I dont mean core supporters) added to some older specttaors having been spoilt by almost 30 years of success, lost patience, and started to dissent, especially after Kenny left. (and again the club, as with Shankly could have reacted better to an obvious heart-churning period in charge) choices have consequence...."the ME society" competely opposite to Shanks mantra..

The 90's however, thanks latterly  in part to "foreign" management, still featured some excellent players and football, leading to trophies again being won early in the new century HOWEVER, more and more "fans" learnt , not from standing on the KOP, sharing breath, song , passion and more in the heat of the game, or "domestic & european away days" when probably the true core supporters show bonding at its best, before during and after games. Houllier was "retired" despite bringing us close to number 19, ....4th place wasnt "good enough" , his choices of Diouf Cheyrou & Diao over Anelka & Litmanen maybe sealed his fate! but already we saw the roots of "fans" impatience,,,which the biased media enjoyed exploiting...negative "headlines" sell more papers, airtime and TV ratings increase..thats the society "step on anyone to get to the top" breeds..

The "Rafa saga" was the CLASSIC example of "trial by media" a vicious, and i mean VICIOUS circle of blame, followed the Gillet & Hicks "take-away" of Lfc, Once Hicks & co, via Parry started to break promises, to convert our fan-base, Rafa became their convenient scapegoat, news items leaked to press, some fans even blamed Rafa's RIGHTFUL opposition to Ferguson's "EPL clique" and influence of refs (Howard Webb, eh Ryan?) ... he dared to mock the "SLYtv media"  when Hicks & go back-stabbed (the Klinsmann affair) by "training and coaching the team" ...for core supporters Rafas esteem increased, but many "fans" whose only access was tainted by Sky commentators & (often xenophobic) explayers & pundits, who force - fed the majority of armchair "fast-food" fans with the equivalent of "Big macs" of bullsh*te......zonal marking was"bad" , Rafa was "negative" . (despite the team scoring the most goal in the EPL) .etc etc..the modern "fan" wasn't privaledged (or even inclined) to access to what core supporters knew, that Rafa was(is) ONE of ours, his kids are scousers; he lived Lfc 4/7 ..yet "fans" jumped on the bandwagon, so the media exploited THAT too, "Sir" Broughton justified Rafa having his contract broken with..."thats the opinion of the MEDIA"...

These "fans" were then fooled by the medias wet dream of an english manager @ Lfc, and kidded that he was more capable than Kenny or Rafa, despite his record not being worthy of mention in comparison to these 2; the  best managers we have had in  25 years. The media created  a lazy society, the media "rules" the minds of the weak, whilst society dumbs kids down, dumbs people down, whilst civil liberties disappear. the mass follows what the media wants them to. During the farce called "hodgson" ....Torres became his scapegoat, didnt matter to so-called "experts" and ex-players (none of whom had ever won a league title as manager, either) Torres "body language" told the "fans" that he didnt care, or he was no good, its a pity Nando wasnt able to project his thoughts..but "fans"  started to buy into the "anti-Nando campaign"  and what part did a couple of his "english team-mates" play?

The internet played a part in the anti-Hicks campaign last summer, (justified) and I also campaigned for the removal of hodgson when 95% of the Lfc fan base realised the truth that he was an "imposter" employed by a fraudulent regime. However, the "mob" provoked reaction can turn people one way (Anti-Hicks, Anti-Hodgson = positive) or another (Anti-Rafa, Anti-Torres) = negative!

"fans" should be angry at people like Tom Hicks , Purslow, broughton and hodgson who contributed to Torres leaving, he could have gone last summer when they replaced Rafa with fool hodgson instead of Kenny and nearly ruined his career. I am a Liverpool supporter since more than  40 years, I am as dedicated  a Red you might ever meet, but..when the club is mis-managed thats NO excuse for insulting Torres etc...Chelski were POSSIBLY his ONLY way out of a situation HE did NOT cause! (maybe something esle happened last week with " a certain player" to push him out the door) Chelski was the only club he could go to ("current top sides")  he cant go to Madrid, he wouldn't go to mancs, he dont play the "Barca" way....

y-our world is "ruled" by weak minded slaves of commercialism, the masses ARE addicted :

Fernando Torres

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/torres-i-feel-like-a-scouser

I find it difficult to follow the idea that Torres is motivated by purely by money, apart from his work for charities; * Oliver Mayor Cystic Fibrosis Foundation     * Unicef     * Liverpool´s Disabled Supporters Association     * Club Atletico de Madrid Foundation     * Talita Foundation     * Multiple Sclerosis Foundation     * Grow up Playing Foundationrom the fact he supports the Charities ;  and seeing him with Kids and the way he conducted himself during 3 years say the opposite, he had non-financial reasons to come to Lfc, and non-financial reasosn to go from us.

It was stated in the Lfc programme that Torres left his boyhood club (Atletico) to Lfc because he wanted to win trophies (none so far) and he was EXHAUSTED by being expected to carry the team, recall interviews of him saying how great he felt sharing responsibility with the likes of Stevie etc, promises were made, by Hiccks, Parry, Purslow & Broughton, then this season after replacing a manager who tactics suited Torres, Purslow/Hodgson signed 4 players; Cole, Meireles, Konch & Poulsen. One being an expensive bench-warmer, one of relegation standard, another past his best and Raul (who only now is starting to show value) added to that hodgson style of "Ale house footy" ..being kicked up in the air, having Fergie criticise him without defence by hodgson and little protection by Refs from "heavy attention" as a lone striker , (still recovering from a knee injury etc, that arguably mistreatment @ Lfc exagerated!!!!) playing mostly seperated from the team, he must have thought it was worse than being "sole saviour" @ Atleti.     Stevies Red card @ OT meant that he's been "target man" even in the short time since Kenny took over.

A lad on RAWK did a fairly decent appraisal of the TOrres years (i added it below just in case anyone has time, inclination or patienec to read it, as they call him now "El Ninny")  but consider this..when we see our "friends" burning the shirt or making insulting remarks or photoshops mock ups of someone who was (IS) a LFC "legend" (fastest player in our history to score 50 goals for us!)

I recall being not much younger than Torres when I was head-hunted...but i had "minor issues" with my employer (not anything like what Torres had to put up with) and I went to an interview with a new company in another country, who I didnt particularly want to work for.. they offered me double my salary and whatever i wanted, they simply WANTED me..but i went back and spoke to the director and although I liked the company and had no reason to leave to join what was in fact a smaller outfit, I was swayed by the lack of appreciation previously..I left not to go to a better company but because i simply felt that the previous hadn't looked after me, and this was a new start...arguably in hindsight I shouldn't have moved, but at the moment it felt right.. Stevie came close to going AFTER winning the cup in Istanbul as Captain..because, he said, wanted to feel appreciated.. TORRES had a lot more reasons than I did, and more than Stevie...or Rushie, or Owen or any major "divorcee"

I am certainly NOT condoning Torres going, but its not on just to point the fnger in his direction, I am certainly not defending him bigging up Cfc , but when he watched Lfctv big up hodgson , spin info for the yankers and do down Rafa, maybe he thinks its ok to play that game now. My point is that I have been disgusted by the action of so many @ Lfc in recent years, as I said from Parry, through Hicks, purslow & broughton to hodgson, the way Rafa was mistreated maybe set something in Torres to think about (after the media got on his back, explayers were too, and then SOME fans,) ..some drama at Melwood and something that i wont discuss here, happened to turn him..because i do believe he meant it when he said he wanted to stay a short while go. (mind you I believed my woman when she told me "she will love me forever" ;)

I dont expect YOU to be loyal to him, BUT what people should see is that he could have left last summer, after many promises (and other things) were broken by Lfc, (theres a lot more to come out about this), and to see the "mob" burning his LIVERPOOL shirt... and sending disgusting pics around the internet sickens me, I just dont want to be associated or in any way condone that "mob rule" ...we (the suits) lied to him! that doesnt make Torres right, but it doesnt make the "mob" right either ! People have to accept that we mis-managed the club and this is the price..(btw - i dont believe he went for the money!)

, a top striker only has about 10 seasons to win major trophies,( Torres started with A.Madrid 10 years ago & he won no trophies with us) I am not "loyal" to Torres , just need to bring some balance in when people are raging and looking more BITTER than the bitters,  maybe he will never recover the form of the previous seasons..consider that in the opinion of Lfc ...

BUT during a "DIVORCE" ...when you dont feel loved at home, do you go to the new woman who wants you? does a desprate man go to a "whorehouse" ?? does a disallusioned young man make a wrong choice? (then feel "forced" / advised to "big up" that choice?  his? strange choices of words at Chelski , which were clearly "un-natural")

btw, had he gone in the summer, which his contract would have allowed, the 50 million could have HELPED Hicks & co,....

Torres didnt play in europa league? (hodgson deliberate, to ensure sale price? ) &  that transfer means that Rafa's "big 3" Alonso, Masch & Torres cost us about 50 million and we received 100 million + ..not bad for the guy the media thinks couldnt do anything right!

additional;(Liverpool Echo)

HE father of departed Liverpool FC striker Fernando Torres has defended his son's British record £50m move to Chelsea.Torres left Anfield on Monday to the consternation of many Reds fans after three and a half goal-laden years in a Red shirt but Jose Torres has given an explanation as to his son's reasons for leaving.

“He’s moved for sporting reasons, not money", said Torres senior. "He believed he was taking a step forward in his career when he signed for Liverpool because at the time it was a strong club.
"Whatever the reason, Liverpool has grown weaker. "We hope now the Chelsea fans will grow to love him.”

Torres' father sympathised with the anger many fans have been expressing over the manner and timing of 26-year-old's transfer to Stamford Bridge.“You have a great player who has scored some fantastic goals"
"He’s a favourite with the fans and all of sudden he’s gone. "I can almost understand.”

...we should NEVER be like THEM!!!!

Opponents

once he decide to leave us, and go to a top club, he wouldnt go to fergie & the mancs, he wouldnt go to madrid, Barca dont fit his style , so of those who could afford him his agent preferred to advise a move to chelski who had the money now, and who might not need him in summer (as a condition for Torres contract was relevant to the Champions league position)

..I know what a sh*t hole stamford br is, I used to work in London as a lad before I moved abroad, I know the mentality well, and I know how we were abused when I game out of the game after we won there a couple of years ago, my then dutch girlfriend was a bit scared but i was up, and knew they are just a bunch of cowards if fronted they back down like Terry and the club as a whole (hole!) ..they have no history to be proud of, and plastic flag wavers will, I think make him aware of the consequences, core supporters have suggested singing the "Torres song" @ Stamford bridge ..to make a point, to remind him who we are, and shame him, and to show our dignity ..thats a profounbd response!

Many fans will mix with our rivals on daily basis, and have to cope with "Torres taunts" the events of monday night have balanced those aspects. other fans boo their players, we shouldnt, other fans openly dish the dirt on their own, we shouldnt..there is no club in the world who can compare with us and our global base, not only limited by number, but by mentality, fickle . knee-jerkig morons seen on tv or the internet can damage that in so many ways

ACTION in the name of our club must, because of our past and our desire to be tp again , must be properly considered, there are no discrete activites , the world sees everything, liuving abroad enables my view to be more "witrhdrawn" although I am an active "REdS missionary" apart from events & club start-ups I spend 6-8hrs a day, recently 10-12 hours or more on line.. WE HAVE to be a "Global REdS family" with dignity because the media are as much our opponents as those we play or sing against.

The "Holy Trinity" ; SUPPORTers, Kenny and the Team (players squad)

SUPPORTERS have to maintain dignity, Support the players, now and in the future. sure criticism of Torres, Owen, Rushie, & Keegan have some basis  for debate, but its HOW we criticise is important, you wont  get me publicly booing or putting any of our players down. The Hicks/hodgson era must be stopped here and now, with the Torres departure and Kenny's example we can re-form the "holy  trinity" in its true sense..IMO global REDS supporters should own or at least have equal share of OUR club, and we are ourselves to blame for not ceasing chances when the club was deep in trouble. No only to be union members but because its an EXCELLENT investment IF managed properly..big IF, I wont thank John Henry, their apparent  "naivety" may yet cost us european if not champions league football, and Torres may have been saved if they had acted earlier, despite them seeming to be better custodians.

any one who laughingly calls themsleves a LFC "fan" who boos, or rubbishes a current LIverpool player in public, or on the world wide web is providing ammunition to the media , mancs or the bluesh*te (in this case Lp and london versions) to use against us, I am damn sure Kenny (who we all agreed to back 100% would want any one of his players publicly crucifed like this, dont be one of the mob, and claim to be in majority just shows how low some  have gone..I for one are NOThing to do with or any mob like that, , goodness help Lfc, fans that pushed Rafa out the door and left us with 6 months of hodgson hell, are within hrs of the news sticking the knives in again,  have no dignity

..my main argument, when I see vilifaction of Torres with disgusting pics and burning LIVERPOOL shirts I would like to ask them if they respect OUR club and what Kenny is trying to do, (return to pride and dignity) if they think KENNY would want to see such things done to Torres or any current or ex Lfc player by our "fans"????? I am asking all those who consider themselves TRUE REdS to RESPECT what Torres did FOR us in the last 3 years, the great goals, and previous committment to the team, and that you dont insult MY memories of him UNTIL at least, you know ALL HIS reasons that he left and NOT speculation by others, media or explayers etc..you should channel your energy in welcoming Suarez & Carroll and supporting Kenny & the team

so I will remove any and every "facebook friend" that publicly insults him, he is NOT a "traitor" nor a "judas" hes a man who had changed his employer (wrongly IMO) after who stayed longer than he needed to...(because of supporters) now some "fans" disgust me with their "mob reactions" . and some of the reactions of self proclaimed liverpool fans that burn torres number 9 liverpool jersey... it is disgusting it is disrespectful and its spiting on our history

anfield online, (removal of Fernando) http://www.anfield-online.co.uk/editorial/2011/reds-right-to-remove-fernando/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+lfcreds+%28Anfield+Online+-+Liverpool+FC+Website%29&utm_content=Twitter

its sad, but ppl have to realise BOTH sides are to blame for this "divorce" and in many ways its similar to a marriage break up..but if I then go around insulting my "ex" in public, on the internet with terrible photos and burning her clothes, I lose MY dignity too (as a comparison..!) <smile>

I AM angry because.. I warned Lfc, management, Kop magazine, SoS , Sharelfc and our global Reds more than 2 years that this would happen if WE supporters didnt move quick, not to sell to the yankers, to back Rafa, (laugh about the criticism... he got THEN, 2 years ago, from the media & clueless "fans") and so on, I have watched each and every fear come to pass, and then watched "fans" many of whom jumped on various badwagons then blame a player for leaving the Titanic when someone was greasing the decks

Lfc IS more important than Torres, but its also necessary for us to avoid being "over the top" about him going he dont owe us anything, he nearly got crippled by mis-management and our club broke promises, "fans" wanted the yankers and didnt want other solutions, life is about choices and consequnces and accepting the price of that..(like i have to accept being alone...because of my choice of lifestyle.and "mentality".) ;)

Its possible he had a "fight" , , so maybe the situation become too difficult for Nando.., Torres hated hodgson s"tactics" the rest you can see from a million miles away..now everythign to be explained  could be wrong because Kenny is trying to bring everyone together, but its also wrong to see terrible things said & done to Torres, and then when Torres sees Lfc" fans" doing terrible things on the internet ("vilification" ) he then is even more convinced to leave Lfc was correct  and act "bullish" @ chelski..supporters must not get drawn into losing dignity..

btw another for the "anti-Rafa mob"...3 major departures Alonso, Mascherano, & Torres ; OUTlay ; 50 Million  INCOME 100 millon+

No one seems to have questioned the role of "sir" (cur) broughton in all this..?

its the "mob" mentality that I object to, i believe some things will come out soon about the reasons, Torres is a good lad at heart and I KNOW this wasnt a decision, easy for him , nor based on money.....I am disgusted with the way some "fans" have turned on Torres..without hearing hIs explanation..surely people cant be so fickle to just switch allegiance that quick ? (some within hours) at the moment when he WAS still our player...and thus people should  be careful (as with Gerrard on 05) not to insult him at least at THAT time..

A young man is being virtually "crucified" for considering a change of employer, and the "media stoked mob" reacts... for million + REDS it became "Blood RED Sunday"...the "instant" trend of those keen to "hang" our kid out ...by the mob, the knee - jerkers, within hours without hearing HIS words, and see the repetition of pure speculation & rumour caused by the media we KNOW to be anti-Lfc, I get angry, I get sad, and sometimes i just feel ashamed that people have lost that Trust and dignity....my arguement against it is about "mentality" NOT "opinion"...the mob, the mass, the "democratic majority" is often wrong, and certainly in todays media - driven society, with their bias and incredible ability to broadcast complete lies and errors..(our reliance on "SLY TV" is pathetic ) .its not only necessary but VITAL to BALANCE this with a CONSTANT reminder of who we are or who we should be.

Watching Nando stun the san siro, or slalom through the marseille defence or massacre "super rich" Madrid @ Anfield etc etc is not the only reason i will give him the benefit of the doubt, the well-known mistreatment and mis-managment of the office @ Lfc is another, but most importantly , when he joined our club, I made a point of researching him, his MENTALITY, and I can, hand on heart, defend him and say, to hand in his transfer request is a NOT result of some greedy claim for more money, or to cause our club problems, but something much deeper has disturbed him, and I am not surprised, WE Supporters must CLEaN our club, of the rubbish that accumulated with the previous owners and our biggest mistake was not to begin protests earlier and to assume that the fight is over when NESV claimed their contrived bargain!

There are mitigating factors that will come clear in time, he is still a modern Lfc "legend" for what he did in only 3 years and does not deserve "crucifiction by internet," nor shirt burning" ..and we cant let the "mob" rule us!...! I have said, i cant blame Torres after what I know about mistreatment, BUT, sure the timing is bad, however I will treat him with BASIC respect at least until I hear EXACTLY his reason from his lips, AFTER everything has calmed down..but if NESV  had sacked hodgson "after 10 games" we may not have lost Torres, guilt money IMO!

I remember the back pages (summer 05) and Gerrard talking about it later on, he needed assurances from Lfc, there were emergency meetings with parry i spend at least 8 hrs a day on the club...and if "fans" want to vent their spleen at our situation this video can direct you to all the yankers and office suits...start with moores, through parry, hicks, purslow, hodgson..and all the people that wouldn't protest, all the people that couldnt leave the stadium quick enough when we did the black shirt demo..*i was the last!) ..thers a list of people a mile long, (inc fans who should be attacked, if your so keen to vent..
you can find all of people to confront, and Torres is NOt one of them..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nmaQ3l9GEY&feature=related

WE are hurt by seperation and when we feel "betrayed" by someone we love, its no different for any true Red, but some fans turning on Torres with such bile and venom is unacceptable , there are mitigating factors, its was not an easy decision..he was in tears, its like a marriage divorce , sometimes necessary but still painful

THOSE SAME FANS WHO clamoured for Rafa to go, which contributed to a disallusioned Torres , and who moaned when Rafa subbed him , now crucify Torres!...

.. b) I saw a lot of suarez, when i lived in Holland classy player, lots of skills , as U know scored lots of goals in THAT league, but its a lot different, and although I didnt want Torres to go, the sharing of responsbility between 2 players Suarez and Carroll makes sense, because Torres may be coming to (maybe) a decline in sharpness after TEN years as a striker (not many strikers last more than 10 years at top level) ..as I say I would ahve prefered to have all 3 but..we must move on..I have massive faith in Kenny to eventually bring out the best of both new players, it MAY take time..but not long..i hope...next? ;)See more

I will leave it like this , YOU will discover that The Yankers, old & new, with a continued mis-management from Moores, Parry, Hicks, Purslow & Broughton..gave Torres ENOUGH reasosn to leave last summer, he stayed and then hodgson mismanaged him again..there are other things that happened that pushed him over the edge,,more info when all this has calmed down, in the meantime I will support Kenny , the new boys & the team, whoever he picks, true & DIGNIFIED REDS could do the same!!

TRUE RED SUPPORTERs who maintain DIGNITY and the LIVERPOOL way, and maybe players, now are ready with Kenny to  re-build the "holy trinity" but dont come on my wall and insult any one of them

Torres is part of Liverpool history whether or not you like it....he played for us and done us proud against the mancs especially....so respect for a former player......who would still be with us were it not for the Two Twats, Purslow, the Hodgson era & senior players, intimidation, false promises and general f***ing around with him....too much crap endured to come back from....sad........YNWA Nando

I talked in my last CLUBLOG a bit about the youth situation and tranfers...we have 25 international class youth, but we also have a a hungry global fan base of millions infected by the media propaganda
lets make sure we are SUPPORTERS more than "fans"

with all this cash around, if I stick a "for sale" sign round me neck will i get signed by Lfc ;) (&  I have no problem climbing in through the window!) ..whatever another man does its important TRUE REDS keep OUR dignity! global Reds should show dignity & public support for ANY Lfc player:- I told Guillem Balague that all modern media is about exageration, lies and pervertion of the truth to sell headlines, thay have no moral code!
.........as for Chelski ; money cant buy you history!

OTHER  OPINIONS;

He is a striker of the highest quality, and that he makes the team better when he is playing is evident to even the most casual of observer. However, as the cliché goes, no individual is bigger than the club and if he wants to depart for fresh fields then we will carry on, of that there can be no doubt. Better players have come in the past, and better players will come in the future - as has always been the way.

If we refuse the buy into the hyperbole that surrounds the situation at the moment and chose to take a step back, is it possible to construct an argument that current events will (however they are finally resolved) help heal the damage done to our club over the last few years?

It seems clear that beyond the financial damage inflicted by H&G, their regime led to a poisonous atmosphere descending upon Anfield. Rumours and counter rumours have swirled about... Purslow has done this, Gerrard has said that, Hicks has promised the other. The truth of each individual snippet can be debated, but the overwhelming sense was of an institution in melt down.

We have come along way in the last few months since then, with new owners, a new manager and a renewed sense of hope and optimism. But, the injuries suffered were deep and it is little wonder that doubt and mistrust still appear in the minds of those involved from time to time - a cursory glance through some of the threads on here shows this is true for the supporters, just as it will be true for the players.

For all the rights and wrongs of El Ninny actions over the last couple of days, they have at least served to bring these negative thoughts into the open. There is now the freedom for him to talk openly to the new management and ownership teams and for that to serve as a catalyst for dialogue and clarification to happen with other players.

This may lead to him staying, and playing with a renewed sense of purpose and vigour. Equally, it might not too, and indeed the next 6 months may see other players deciding it is time for them to move on as well. Either way, we benefit from having players that are unfettered by the dark days we have been through.

To heal, we sometimes first need to get through the pain.  And while we are hurting now, in the long run I would suggest this is a positive, indeed a required step, on the path to recovery and those golden skies we are all waiting for. A strong healthy club is not dependant on the whim of any individual, nor can any team function without the full involvement of all its constituent parts -  and this process will can only help us step towards being that strong healthy club once more. World class BS

http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=270199.80

ou know are we not supposed to be knowledgeable?

Im sick of tired of reading in threads, Adam isnt good enough, Young isnt good enough. Why do we need only high calibre players? Can someone enlighten me?

Look at Madrid. A veritable whose who of stars, yet they cant win a dickiebird. We had Alonso, Masch, Reina, Torres and Gerrard and won nothing.

World class players do not equal great teams. As Liverpool fans we should know this more than anyone. Yes the game may have changed somewhat but the basics remain the same.

Would you say Manchester United have a world class team? How many world class players do they have? Rooney? er...thats it? I wouldnt bracket Vidic, Nani or Berabtov as world class, good but not world class. Their team is average. You know why they are successful? Because they live and die as a team with a manager in charge who gets the very best out of them.

When Rushy left in 87 Kenny went out and bought Beardsley, the best player from a mid table club, Barnes, the best player of a mid to bottom club and Aldo and Houghton from a bottom club. We stormed the league.

Its about the right components not the biggest talents. We need to get back to basics. I think for too long now we've been as a team overly reliant on Gerrard, over reliant on Torres and Alonso and its made the team suffer massively, theres no collective focus. I have faith under Kenny he will get the team playing as a cohesive attacking unit, whether thats with Charlie Adam or Young or not.

I want to see us get back up there, i want us to play attacking football, i want us to have teams fearful of Anfield again, i dont want a team having to only nullify one aspect of our team to render us useless. If that means we have 11 players from the spl, league 1 and lower prem, so be it.

Just remember although football has become big business its the man in charge who directs the team, not superstars and anyone who can remember how the old boot room did it will know that.

Patience with kenny, faith in his ability, his decisions on purchases will go along way, so let's all cut out the spoilt Champ manager esq squealing, get back to what we know best.

Over and out.

&

Our first team of 87-88 (possibly one our finest sides) was this:

Grobbelaar

Nicol
Gillepsie
Hansen
Venison

Johnston
McMahon
Whelan
Barnes

Aldridge
Beardsley

How many of that team would be considered "world class" by modern standards? I would hazard a guess of just 2 or 3.

It's not about the players, it is about the team.

HELLRAZOR>

the story of El Ninny and Liverpool. why we loved you, why we hate you
i felt compelled to write it, and show how much i loved him and how much he has destroyed everything.

mods please feel free to move this to general if you want but just bear in mind the length of times its taken me to write this.

why we loved him, why we hate him!

July 2007 seemed like a long time ago, not only was it when we fell in love with El Ninny but to put into context Hicks and Gillett were still liked! The club was seemingly on enough financial footing to go toe to toe with anyone. A new stadium, debt free club, new players and a bright new dawn was seemingly there for the taking.

All the talk was about who was coming in, for once Hicks and Gillett didn’t disappoint (though where they paid for this is anyones guess). Liverpool were rumoured to have paid anything up to 28m to secure the signing of Spanish striker El Ninny.

El Ninny had been a boyhood Atletico Madrid fan, but a noticeable armband with youll never walk alone on it didn’t go amiss by some eagle eyed soon to be internet terrorists.

El Ninny had made his debut for Atletico aged 16 at the end of the 2000-1 season. A week later a goal against Albacete was to be the first in a prolific career. El Ninny career began to take off at the end of the 2001-2 season as Atletico were promoted to La Liga in spain. A goal tally of 6 in the second division was then followed in 2002-3 by 13 in La Liga. Aged just 19 El Ninny scored 19 league goals the following season, by now he was club captain and one of europes up and coming strikers in a team that finished 7th.

Chelsea and Newcastle were rumoured to be sniffing about. A brief feature for Spain in euro 2004 lead to further recognition soon after as El Ninny banged in 20 goals in 2004-5. A further 13 followed a year later with El Ninny beginning to move Raul out of the international and form a deadly partnership with david villa. Spain disappointingly went out of the world cup in the second round, having again bottled another tournament. El Ninny scored 3 times. Liverpool were now in the running for him.

One final year at Atletico saw El Ninny score 15 times and now everyone wanted a piece of the kid. Man united were rumoured to be interested but as I cruised around the Mediterranean enjoying my summer holliers the worlds worst kept secret was unfolding, El Ninny number 9 at Anfield was no longer a rumour. 20m + put pay to that. It was one of the most exciting transfers in club history.

The first real glimpse of what was to come came on his home debut as El Ninny scored a wonderful individual goal. After making a monkey of Chelsea’s Tal Ben Haim El Ninny cut in on his weak foot before sliding the ball home from an acute angle making it look oh so easy. The game finished 1-1, a special bond had been formed. At his next home game El Ninny scored twice in a 6-0 win over Derby County which put Liverpool top of the league. All was well in the world.
Even by this stage of his career El Ninny was already considered untouchable in the first 11, the over the top reaction to him being rested for 0-0 draws with Portsmouth and Birmingham saw to that. El Ninny followed this up with his first hattrick for the club in a 4-2 win at Reading in the league cup, despite being battered from pillar to post all match. We had something special. He could use his right foot, left foot, head and he could beat players, whilst over the first 10 yards El Ninny could outpace a rocket. His popularity was skyrocketing.

El Ninny took his early season tally to 7 with a last minute equalizer versus Spurs but an injury on international duty saw El Ninny miss 2 games and his return against Arsenal lasted until half time. After missing another 3 games which included an 8-0 win over Be?ikta? in the champions league, El Ninny came off the bench to score in a 2-0 win over Fulham at anfield. Liverpool’s next game in the Champions League saw them beat Porto 4-1 with El Ninny scoring twice, his first two European goals.
Just days later El Ninny was at it again in a 4-0 win over Bolton. A little dink over Bolton keeper Jaaskelainan drew comparsion with Kenny Dalglish’s famous goal against Bruges in 1978. A week later Liverpool lost their first league game at Reading all season. El Ninny was controversially withdrawn as Liverpool trailed 3-1. Midweek reigned on manager Rafa Benitez’s mind as El Ninny was subbed late on, but a fresh Fernando was ready for Liverpools must win game in Marseilles in the champions league group stage. The reds had managed just one point from 3 games before recovering to win 2 in a row, another one would be enough and when El Ninny scored with a superb individual effort inside 10 mins it was already game over. 2-0 up at the time, Liverpool would win 4-0.

Although El Ninny didn’t have much impact the following week in a 1-0 defeat to Man united he was on the scoresheet twice again against Portsmouth (4-1) whilst he scored another superb goal against Derby during the Christmas season in a 2-1 win. A present was ordered for me at the times, Liverpool’s black away strip with El Ninny 9 on the back, i like millions of others had a new idol. Even my young grand nephew got in on the act. He became known as “little El Ninny”. I really wanted him to grow up so much like the real one.

As 2008 kicked off the reds seemed just too far away to win the league but the El Ninny magic kept on flowing.  El Ninny kicked the new year off with goal number 16 of the season in a poor 1-1 home draw with Wigan. A stunning strike at Middlesboro in another  1-1 game only added to his stock but with the club embroiled in ownership struggles a league challenge was proving too much. Manager rafa benitez went to war with the owners refusal to back him, the fans threw their weight behind Benitez and the war would have devastating effects.

El Ninny again scored in a 3-0 win over Sunderland before the reds surprisingly went out of the fa cup at home to Barnsley. A change in tactics around this time allowed El Ninny to flourish. Instead of the traditional 442, Liverpool kept a flat back 4 with 2 defensive mids thrown in to allow 3 attackers to roam left right and centre. With this Gerrard played in the middle just behind El Ninny. The effect was devastating at times. Towards the end of the 07-8 season Liverpool began to play some awesome stuff, it was to be a catalyst for the clubs strongest title challenge for years in 2009 but before that El Ninny had some work to do.

$The last 16 of the champions league saw Liverpool tear into Inter Milan winning 2-0 in the home leg. Despite not scoring El Ninny hounded the Italians all night causing Marco Matterazzi to be sent off for silly fouls, Matterazzi simply couldn’t contain him. A few days later neither could Middlesboro. El Ninny rifled in a hattrick in a 3-2 win including one 25 yard belter. In Liverpool’s next home game he remarkably did it again. A wonderful volley, a superb piece of close control and finishing and one more for good measure saw Liverpool beat west ham 4-0. The greatest comparison was to come at home to Newcastle as El Ninny shimmied the keeper before dinking in number 2 in a 3 nil win.  It reminded many of Pele’s famous dummy and miss for brazil against Uruguay, only difference was El Ninny scored.

Midweek a goal vs inter Milan in the champions league put Liverpool into the quarter final 3-0 on aggregate. The 1-0 even saw inter fans applaud us off the field. El Ninny crisp volley saw to that.  Another header in a 2-1 win over Reading saw Liverpool hold onto 4th, despite their good performances the leagues standard was so high it was all we could do, despite losing just 4 league games all season. El Ninny ended the month by scoring the winner in a 1-0 over Everton at Anfield.

In the champions league Liverpool faced arsenal and after a 1-1 draw away we repeated the feat again in the league before the second leg of the champions league at anfield. Despite trailing early on the match was again evenly poised at 1-1 when El Ninny took a knockdown from Crouch before unleashing an unholy shot smack bang in the top corner. Liverpool won the eventful match 4-2 on the night to set up a semi final with Chelsea. But before that El Ninny lashed in his 30th of the season against Blackburn in a 3-1 win.

In the semi final El Ninny scored in the second leg. With the match finishing 1-1 just like at anfield, Liverpool would narrowly lose 3-2 away to go out. El Ninny still ended the season well with a goal to beat man city 1-0 at anfield. This is so far the only time i had seen El Ninny live. I had watch on telly away to city earlier in the season. El Ninny was marked by Richard dunne, dunne did aswell as anyone against him at anfield but in the two games El Ninny got the better of him for a split second only once. The result was a El Ninny goal. It said it all about El Ninny for me, one chance GOAL. The season ended with his 33rd goal of the campaign against spurs. Remarkably not one of his goals was from a penalty or free kick. A year after joining us El Ninny was said by many to be the worlds best striker. He was the favourite to land the golden boot at euro 2008.

Although the honour would go to david villa, the part El Ninny played shouldn’t be forgotten, indeed when villa couldn’t play the final El Ninny played on his own upfront hounding the german back line into submission as spain beat germany 1-0 o secure their first trophy in almost 50 years. Such was our love for him and the club Spanish contingent some fans celebrated as if Liverpool had won it. So when he came back for 08-9 alongside new strike partner Robbie keane many felt this was the year we would win the title. El Ninny started it off well with a fine goal in a 1-0 win over sunderland. Normal service resumed.

However around this time El Ninny began to get troubled with hamstring problems, he lasted just 20 mins at aston villa and didn’t feature at all in a 2-1 home win over man united. Liverpool managed fine, the club topped the table for much of the early part of the season. El Ninny eventually found his form by scoring twice at everton in a 2-0 win reminding everyone just how shit hot he was.  During that week a 3-1 champions league win over PSV saw him set up new strike partner Robbie keane for keanes first goal. A glorious partnership beckoned, although El Ninny managed fine on his own as he lead a tremendous comeback the following Sunday as Liverpool came from 2 down to beat man city 3-2 away with El Ninny scoring twice. Around this time yet another international duty related injury had rafa benitez pulling his hair out. Liverpool kept up their title challenge without the injured El Ninny, this included a 1-0 win at Chelsea ending their long unbeaten run at Stamford bridge which put us top of the table. Annoyingly for Nando, he missed both champions league ties with atletico Madrid, his former club and was not even able to attend the away match which he had been given VIP passes for.

A return came with  a late sub appearance at home to west brom before a shake down in the league cup at spurs which Liverpool lost although didn’t appear to take over seriously. A sub appearance saw him set up gerrard in a 2-0 win at Bolton with our title challenge steaming along nicely. A full blooded 90 min show against Marseille saw Liverpool qualify from their champions league group but El Ninny had again re-aggravated the hamstring injury of recent times and didn’t feature again for 7 games, league and cup. Despite dropping points against West ham and hull, Liverpool went top of the table going into 2009 thanks to a crushing 5-1 win over Newcastle. El Ninny then returned in the fa cup scoring late on in a 2-0 win over Preston although he was still someway short of fitness.

Rusty appearances followed against Stoke and Everton but he did set up a fine goal against the latter in the Mersey derby fa cup tie which finished 1-1. During this time manager Rafa Benitez was ridiculed for a rant he directed at man united manager alex ferguson, whilst skipper steven gerrard was arrested for an altercation in a nightclub. As for El Ninny’ new partner Robbie keane 7 goals weren’t enough and just 6 months into his anfield career he rejoined spurs. The injury hit El Ninny was the only striker of recognition at the club with David ngog largely untried.

As Liverpool  suddenly looked like falling out of the title picture altogether El Ninny hauled them back into the race with a brilliant late double to see off Chelsea 2-0 at anfield, remarkably his first goals at anfield for 9 months. A last minute winner at Portsmouth the following week kept us ticking but a draw with man city and defeat at Middlesboro followed. Around this time Benitez was heavily linked with the sack, despite a good start to the season ownership problems kept rearing its head. But before losing to boro, Liverpool had won 1-0 against Real Madrid away despite El Ninny suffering from rough treatment at the hands of madrids defence.

El Ninny returned in the home leg as Liverpool turned in a 5 star performance to beat real Madrid 4-0 with El Ninny scoring the opener. It was in my opinion Liverpools finest performance of all time. It could easily have been 10-0. 4 days later Liverpool travelled to man united and despite losing an early goal they stunned the whole league by trashing the manc dickfaces 4-1 with El Ninny scoring the games equalizer. Indeed before the game united lead by 7 points with a game in hand, now they were rattled while nemanja vidic was talked about as player of the year. El Ninny destroyed that notion in 90 minutes with vidic ending up sent off. El Ninny had proved himself again. Liverpool began to close on united and got the gap down to one point and briefly lead the table after winning at Fulham. However the season ended potless, El Ninny scored again against Chelsea at anfield but Liverpool lost 3-1 in the champions league and would lose overall 7-5. Whilst in the league things slipped away after a frantic 4-4 draw with arsenal in which El Ninny scored twice. His last goal on an injury hit season was in the 3-1 win over spurs in which he scored his 50th goal for the club.

So for 2009-10 it seemed things were going in the right direction ownership rows or not. El Ninny got himself a new 4 year deal with a wage of 110k a week and all was right but when owners tom hicks and George gillett provided no net spending in the transfer window (despite a 30m sale of Alonso) it saw the Liverpool title challenge end before it began. El Ninny began in fine form scoring in a 4-0 win over stoke, a 1-3 villa defeat and a 3-2 win at Bolton, whilst at west ham two stunners in a 3-2 win put us 3rd. El Ninny was on fire. Every goal was a love affair, i seriously loved the guy. We all did!

The following week even man united fans felt the need to text me with one going “wow, he truly is the best in the world” this after a hattrick in a 6-1 demolition of hull. Soon though another international duty injury occurred and Liverpools momentum stopped stone dead. They lost 6 of their next 7 ironically only beating man united, a game where an unfit El Ninny tore united apart in a 2-0 win. Even against Fulham El Ninny scored despite the side limping to a 3-1 defeat but it was clear El Ninny was painfully unfit. Hamstring and knee problems restricted game time and before long Liverpool seemed out of the running to even finish 4th whilst their group stage champions league saga was embarrassing with the reds going out with one match to spare.

El Ninny still had his qualities although few would say Liverpool deserved to win 1-0 at villa with El Ninny scoring a late winner having returned earlier in the month with a goal against wigan . a first half injury against reading in the fa cup again had many pulling their hair out. Liverpool exited that competition. El Ninny didn’t play for 8 games before returning late on in a 0-0 draw with man city, one of many potential new clubs linked with him. By this stage Liverpool were some way off the coveted 4th spot. Mid march El Ninny still showed his instincts with 2 against Portsmouth in a 4-1 win and followed that  with 2 more at home to lille in the europa league. Another goal against united was next even if it couldn’t prevent a 2-1 defeat.  Alex ferguson even commented that had El Ninny been fit all season Liverpool could have been fighting his team for  1st.

He took his tally to 7 goals in 4 games with 2 goals against sunderland in a 3-0 win, one of which was the goal of the season as he cut in from the left to fire in a wonderful goal into the top corner. No wonder we loved him.  Around this time though his season began to come to a close. El Ninny was infamously withdrawn against Birmingham, the 1-1 draw was for many the end of any hope of us finishing 4th. Although recent rumours suggest that Benitez started El Ninny amid false reports from team medics which may have been a result of pressure from the club hierarchy, something the manager was quick to attack at many points. Certainly El Ninny showed no signs of injury 4 days later in a 4-1 win over benfica which put Liverpool into the semi final of the europa league. El Ninny scored twice, the first of which was a beautiful breakaway whilst he again copied the dalglish bruges goal for his second of the tie. El Ninny would again miss a game with his old club atletico Madrid due to injury and didn’t feature again for the rest of the season. His knee flared up again and in the end he only barely made the world cup squad for spain and looked well short of fitness all tournament eventually losing his place in the starting 11. El Ninny failed to score a goal all tournament and although he was delighted with the win in the final and a world cup medal, El Ninny again injured his hamstring in the final. However Liverpool fans again celebrated for him and the large contingent at the club as El Ninny was pictured draping a Liverpool scarf around the famous trophy.

When he returned he was one of many players to voice his opinion that universally hated owners hicks and gillett should sell the club. El Ninny also pledged his immediate future to the club despite the sacking of manager rafa benitez, following a disappointing 7th place finish in the league. Liverpool were not in the champions league and benitez was replaced by Fulham manager roy hodgson.  We still had him on board atleast. Season tallies of 33, 17 and 22 despite injuries was nothing short of remarkable.  Despite his lack of fitness El Ninny looked raring to go in the opening day fixture against Arsenal, a late sub appearance in a 1-1 draw. He ended august with his first of the season in a 1-0 win over west brom but some began to wonder of his use. A dreadful start saw us win just one of our first 8 league games. Although by the time we lost at everton the club had finally been sold to John henry with its 360m debt wiped out some were still worried.

Liverpool narrowly avoided administration but lay 19th in the league, although El Ninny scored in a 2-1 win over Blackburn doubts lingered over the clubs direction on field with El Ninny being isolated upfront on his own. The squad was weakened with the departures of benayoun, aquilani and Alonso before him due to the lack of money whilst replacements such as jovanovic, cole and konchesky didn’t inspire. El Ninny’s confidence and mood dawned, he sulked through games. He looked disinterested. Liverpool was in decline.

Early November we saw a glimpse of he of old as El Ninny fired home a wonderful double to down Chelsea at anfield. The following week though Liverpool’s miserable away form continued as they lost 3-1 to Newcastle with El Ninny missing a guilt edged chance with the game poised at 1-1. The gloom continued with defeats to the likes of Wolves and Blackburn. With the transfer window open Man city began moving again. However by this time Liverpool dispensed with Roy Hodgson, the hapless manager was gone before he could do any further damage with Liverpool lying in the lower half of the table and an Fa cup date with man united beckoning.

The club was given a huge lift when Kenny Dalglish came in as caretaker and it seemed he could get the best out of El Ninny. He publicly promised it whilst El Ninny promised to see out his contract. Despite losing 1-0 to united, there were signs we had improved, uniteds goal came from a dodgy penalty whilst the reds had to make do without their captain Steven Gerrard who was sent off in the first half. The improvement in service to El Ninny showed at blackpool as he took just 3 mins to get on the scoresheet, although Liverpool ultimately lost. El Ninny was unlucky not to score in a 2-2draw with everton, hitting the post. He was then back to his tormenting best with 2 goals in a 3-0 win at wolves and had a major hand in the 1-0 win over Fulham. With him looking dangerous things were on the up. The dalglish feel good factor was having an effect whilst the new owners looked like spending money. Luis Suarez of Ajax signed in a 23m deal.

And then it happened, just as news of this broke, the worshipped, talented and loyal El Ninny then handed in a transfer request. Worse still it was to push through a move to Chelsea. He had spat in the face of us all and stabbed us all in the back. I went to bed and choked on tears, imagine, a man of 28 doing that!

But thats how bad it felt, we could understand if it was real Madrid or Barcelona, maybe even an Italian team, we can see the club has been to hell but when it started to show signs of getting out of it by spending big he walked! Rumours of a 50m get  out clause was rife but that was the fee that eventually saw him move to Chelsea.  From hero worship that rivalled Dalglish, Fowler and Gerrard, the Spaniard had thrown it all away, i thought of the wonderful boxed shirt my girlfriend bought me when she could have spent it on something else. Something she thoughtfully picked out, my sister buying me El Ninny 9 on the away strip, the El Ninny calendar pics at home, the El Ninny book where he repeatedly lauded the club and its fans and staff, and of course my grand nephew “little El Ninny”.

To see him in the Chelsea shirt is painful, to hear him say hes moved to a big club and there is no level up now is just too much to bear.

The above is long, it has taken me a long long time to write this. But maybe the anger will clear youll see we did enjoy his time here, we did worship him and he restored faith to me in a lot of ways, i thought maybe just maybe loyalty was still in football and it didn’t have to be homegrown.

But El Ninny over the last week has smashed that to pieces, he has stabbed the club in the back, aswell as its fans. Although i enjoyed every single one of his 80 + goals what he has done in the past week is unforgiveable.

Those memories are sullied and upon finishing this I want to be sick. All the promises and all of this now means nothing. Instead of the brilliance ive described you have left us with memories of your last season, whinging, lack of effort and lies! I want to say thanks but i cant. I don’t know how to finish this, but you did it for me last week. So like everything you did in the last week El Ninny, youve ruined this too!
NOW F**K OFF

 - El Ninny already regrets Liverpool FC exit by Word Thief. Published Tue 01 Feb 2011 15:46,

Last night brought about the realisation that will haunt El Ninny for the rest of his career.

Minutes after breaking the British transfer record, he sat stonefaced in front of an in-house camera crew and expressed his delight at finally securing a move to Chelsea.

But as he waxed lyrical about his lucrative switch, the look of dread in his eyes that accompanied his monotone spiel suggested otherwise.

Somewhere amidst £50million worth of footballer sat a little boy lost from Fuenlabrada.

In that brief moment when it dawned on him that he had sold out on those core beliefs he had harboured growing up in the Madrid suburb, 'The Kid' truly lived up to his nickname.

It will live long in his memory as well as in those of the Liverpool supporters who feel betrayed by his deadline day defection to Stamford Bridge.

El Ninny went on record last summer, following his return from the World Cup, to dismiss fears that he was set to leave by insisting his commitment to Liverpool was no different to that on the day he arrived. Throughout the recording, his eyes beamed and so did his smile.

By comparison, his West London screen debut was morose and the attempted sideswipe at his former employers was another example of the child within trying to convince himself he had played no part in any wrongdoing.

Throughout his three-and-a-half-year stay at Liverpool, fans were hoodwinked by El Ninny's countless sound bites about how he was proud to play for a 'trabajador' - a humble, hard-working club in Spanish - and live in a city with an equally significant history.

But his decision to switch to a club whose general ethos is the complete opposite has shattered illusions within the fan base that he was 'one of them'. He was anything but.

It was perhaps testiment to the powers of persuasion 'Brand El Ninny' - the collective term used to describe the striker and his representatives Bahia Internacional in some private quarters - held over supporters to the point that every word he uttered was perceived as gospel.

In isolation, incidents such as the armband presented to him by friends, with the words 'We'll Never Walk Alone', just months before joining Liverpool appeared an innocent coincidence.

But the relentless PR offensive undertaken by El Ninny and Bahia has alerted Kopites to his possible motives and view this and other instances in an understandably cynical light.

Had he quit Anfield in the summer, when fears of administration loomed large under George Gillett and Tom Hicks' reign, his move would have been understood.

Engineering a move at the beginning of the transfer window as Roy Hodgson's short-lived tenure as manager was drawing to a close, too, would have been met with disappointment but also a begrudging acceptance given Liverpool's fortunes this season.

But to leave a club under the management of Kenny Dalglish, who has united all factions, and owners who are already backing up their pledge to make Liverpool great again with actions, speaks more about a player who had mentally checked out a very long time ago.

Like Michael Owen before him, El Ninny left Liverpool in a bid to collect silverware, but Steven Gerrard, who himself twice turned down Chelsea, put it best when he said that lifting trophies with the club meant "a lot more than winning seven or eight trophies somewhere else."

Owen's lasting legacy was tarnished by his actions and El Ninny has followed his predecessor in the Anfield front line down this particularly murky path. Liverpool had the last laugh and if recent history is a trustworthy benchmark, they will do so again.

Both had the potential to become eternal legends at Anfield but instead chose to pursue the gravy train in the hope of a quick fix. Owen found out this to his cost and in time El Ninny will too. The little boy from Fuenlabrada trapped within already knows this.

I was there at Anfield with my boy - it was his birthday. We were sat near the Annie Road end close to the Chelsea fans and I watched take that ball from Gerrard and score that goal - what a player we had. We gave him status rarely bestowed upon our players. He seemed to have already earned our trust, respect and adulation before even kicking a ball for us......and then he went and fucking blew it by asking for a move to Chelsea. I listened to his comments after signing and I have no doubt that they were written by a PR staffer who wanted to a) instantly endear him to his new fans and b) stick the knife into his old fans and distance him from his old life.

I don't wish him ill but neither do I wish him luck - he has gone and soon will be forgotten.
We will forget but we will never forgive....he will always walk alone!

Well, I don't hate him. In fact, I can understand what he's done.

Cast your minds back to when he left his childhood club for us. It had to be done, we all said. Atletico aren't going to win anything any time soon and this guy is going to be one of the best in the world, what a waste if he doesn't join a club that has a chance. Where we are now is where Atletico were back then only now he's older, and running out of time.

One of the greatest shames in football will be if Gerrard never wins the Premiership. El Ninny never winning anything would be up there with it. Yes it's Chelsea and that makes it even harder to swallow but going on how much he cost and his style of football, it was only ever going to be one of them or Barca. He saw an opportunity to enhance his career and he took it, just like most of us have at some point I'm sure.

It's harder because it felt like he was one of us, and he's left us now we're struggling. But he owed us nothing as he gave us everything and he was lied to, let down medically and 1000s of miles away from home at a club in reverse. But with leaving Atletico he paved the way for Forlan and Aguero, lets hope history repeats itself with our two. Good luck Nando, I will be telling your legend until I die. I hope some people don't deny themselves the memories.
