..."sold" (yet without SOUL) into forming an opinion that suits....the "suits...

YOU DONT have to be a football supporter or "fan" to see this affecting the biggest cultural influence on the worlds population.."show me the money" the line from the film ("Jerry Macquire") which in fact had a decent message within it, has turned my passion into anger ..anger at those who "sold" it and anger at those who BETRAY it , and disgust that those "fans" , supporters and people within our club(s) that OUGHT to know better have made no more than a gesture to stop it, if at all

There was a man who turned Lfc from an "average" club (albeit with a fantastic support) into a GLOBAL entity...
 

even some people at the club and in the city failed to realise the man's greatness until he was gone - thats a curse of the people there sometimes, taking things for granted and SOME not respecting that unique "something" and the ability to make dreams reality until too late.

Hodgson is just the opposite of Shanks, in every way possible..

Too many fans , are fixated on money.."buy buy buy" "this player, that player" & the capitalist controlled world is all they have been sky(tv)-fed on.,..if our unique identity if eroded than I would rather stop watching Lfc than it become another citeh, chelski or r. madrid! ..young fans are too fickle, fed on fast-food success..financial reality will change this in time ..but maybe too late to learn what is valuable in life..
 

I d like to see SoS-SL going transparent with a campaign to fund a stadium ..named SHANKLY , then they truly would be the "spirit of Shankly"

..I have said all along that we must not simply welcome "new Yanks" just because of the disasterous texan version..a properly promoted GLOBAL REDS campaign (supposing that SoS-SL really HAVE been working on setting up the supporters fund? with 50,000 members? and not "just" the protest campaigns) to fund our new stadium or removation of the existing one seems to AT LEAST fit the status WE deserve , if Henry is "true" ....and thats becoming a larger , and LARGER question against NESV!

as purslow is still around, and NESV with little expeience in footy, have not yet replaced broughton, its unlikely they will ditch hodgson, unless theres a massive supporter campaign of the type that attracted media when we wanted G & H out..(unlikely as Henry has done a great "PR" job so far) .the whole spin of the LFC office tends to hide the opinion of most core supporters that a) hodgson replaced someone who is ,by far, superior, b) that hodgson was a pawn in the broughton/purslow power game or c) that the only honest man i the picture is Kenny Dalglish and whether he is perceived by some to be dynamic enough , he is surely is for me the only one strong enough to cope with the dubious game of politics going on at Lfc..when or if these basic problems are solved , we can clearly see a picture of where and how the team progrsses, I cant enjoy the footy whilst these vital issues cast a shadow over our club, but I doubt Henry will be able to resolve them as quick as I / we would like. As I am sure the majority of supporters woudl prefer to be discussing the merits of players & team formations etc rather than these "bad taste" issues..?

I feel the Premiere league this season is overall competitive but the standard  poorer, which makes our position all the more depressing..as the english media were promoting the anti rafa mob last season, its if  their darling hodgson and  his "judge me after 10 games" quote backfires on him  (so dont moan at the fans if they jump on the "anti-woy" bandwagon now, because this time the criticism is more than justified)..

I hope Henry has plans that please core Lfc supporters, because hodgson "map" makes hima legend,,,in his own lunchtime....he WANTED to be "judged" after 10 league games, - the judgement is "guilty" it's sad that some are conned by the media into celebrating our jump to 12th place...and that the "new Yanks" are not experienced in managing footy to see through his BS! (or the pathetic english media lobby behind him)

as a life long RED it's hard to take , since the 60's , when weaned on Shanks mentality and supporting each REDS team ..encouraging any player that wears the LiverBird on their chest ..and whoever managed that team, until now,  I cant enjoy it..my heart wanted a win, and as always although I want my team to play beautiful footy i'd take a scambled win..a steal like sunday

Fergies  days may be numbered , hopefully with the likes of nani and shrek far from having their heart in their clubs interest. however, .our own problems with Torres are IMO more about the "long ball" scramble of hodgson tactics, the analysis of  the passing methods used this season even compared with Rafa's "poor season" last year, we made 250 less passes, in the same game time, ???

Torres can play the lone striker but he needs a "pass & move" team around him that support, we scored the most goals in the PL in 08/09 with Torres alone, because players supported, but hodgsons tactics leave us far too deep to support Torres, its logical that his game/confidence will suffer when hes left to do it alone (one of the reasons he left Atleti?)

I had to haave some FUn because I am on the verge on outright bias against anything from the USA or "injected" like hodgson is......but I cant imagine iin my head being truly "happy" whilst that man is sitting in the managers seat..

trying to avoid bias is difficult , but my feeling is that hodgson has proven that there is  not one thing about him thats good for LFC (that is, the LFC i want to support) ..the "10 games" gone by, and I feel that the "success " of recent wins are more down to the team than to "tactics" ...and I dont see a strategy ..

I have lost count of the number of times I have complained about the fact that certain travel agents & others sell tickets to our games through corporate or other deals by the club, Lfc ticket office is almost as mcuh to blame as anyone..
they offer deals via agents that dont identify if the buyers are true fans - and so often in recent years true fans havent been able to get to big games or finals because of it,

if anyone at Lfc had done their homework they would have seen the piotential for trouble as soon as we were drawn with Napoli ..(the troubles related to Italian clubs are not unknown to us are they???) ..sure some lads are going to look for "revenge" ...surely we havent forgoten what led to "heysel" ???..

Lfc "office" needs sorting, but I dont yet believe NESV have the "nouse"  ...(broughton, purslow & hodgson are still there!)

I agree that long term SOS & SL need to keep building, no matter how things pan out with the new owners, I bel...ieve that the supporters must buy into the club and am a member of both and intend to continure to recruit fans to join......in the long term the supporters must have a say.....this is important for LFC because our supporters are football people and know their football (that is the pre 2005 'supporters'). YN WA.

The Reds vice-captain took time out of his busy preparations for Thursday's Napoli clash by dropping in at Barlows Lane Primary School in Fazakerley.

.....as a life long RED its hard to take , since the 60's , when weaned on Shanks mentality and supporting each REDS team ..encouraging any player that wears the LiverBird on their chest ..and whoever managed that team, until now,  I cant enjoy it..my heart wanted a win, and as always although I want my team to play beautiful footy i'd take a scambled win..a steal like sunday...but I cant imagine iin my head being truly "happy" whilst that man is sitting in the managers seat.. Pepe , as usual, great , Sotos, Carra & Skrtel defending well, Lucas is getting better all the time (IMO) ..and starting to show some "command" in his play (obviously being picked for Brazil is also helping him) ..our big guns SG & Torres off form, Torres still dont look 100% fit to me, that explosive pace not yet seen this season..I just hope its not lost due to those successive injuries..BUT his "flick" was class..and Ngog did more for the team in his Cameo than Cole had done until then..Konch,,ok at home, but perhaps like his continued boss, not an "away day" lover...Meireles is the one i am unsure about..good last sunday but yeeterday worked hard, but at times looked lost..

tryting to avoid bias is difficult , but my feeling is that hodgson has proven that there is  not one thing about him thats good for LFC (that is the LFC i want to support) ..the "10 games" gone by, and I feel that the "success " of recent wins are more down to the team than to "tactics" ...and I dont see a strategy ..
i cant being myself ever to want to lose , but rh is not our man, he was appointed by the "corrupt regime" ..and like that nightmare, i want it to be over and him gone, i'd rather have NO coach than someone who disgusts me as he does, and makes me not want to even look or listen to his interviews or post-match "opinions" ..oh...man of the match...(@ BOLTON)

The aim of this article is to set out briefly the rationale for the new UEFA rules, then go into a little bit of detail about what they say, and then offer some insight into their significance for Liverpool Football Club. The article will try and demonstrate that, in the short term at least, due to the unfortunate timing of the proposed takeover and the lack of any significant funds in the last few transfer windows, Liverpool Football Club has not been able to take advantage of the UEFA rules used to calculate whether a club has broken even. There is no coincidence that Manchester City are spending fortunes this summer, because from the 2011/12 season, as will be described below, the club runs the risk of breaching the UEFA rules by spending over and above what they earn.

with a million + global fan base IMO its even more important that the SoS-SL co-operation be used as a balance to the "new yanks" and to encourage distant fans to join the membership (and bring "rough traders"into the Lfc family, but this surely needs trust in the new Lfc management and whilst purslow, broughton & hodgson still represent the old regime that (IMO) needs to be purged.

I wonder if Purslow saw this before offloading a lot of youth in favour of players at the back end of their career on (perhaps) higher wages?

my gut reaction is that whilst on the surface this seems to intend "fair play" ..the seemingly biased way UEFA acted so far means that certain clubs may get even "softer" beddings in to the new situation and rather than justice & fair (financial) play, this new scheme will just increase UEFA already full coffers as they "penalise" the rich, who almost certainly will attempt to "get round it"...

as for the Napoli match I heard some pretty banal discussion on Lfc Tv weekend "a closer look"
(which is "spinning" faster than a top these days , almost every programme on it contains pro-NESV or pro-hodgson, or anti-Rafa comment) and I had an ironic smile when the sunday times lad (the same sunday TIMES, which used to have a "global rep"  thats FALSEly compared hodgsons start to that of Rafa!) mentioned about avram grant of W.Ham letting youth go and bringing in players at the end of the career, and thought to myself..hmmm thats what Purslow/hodgson has done,....

even if this "survival" season works , 4/5 players may only have another season ...surely Kelly & Shelvey will get the chance (and "woy" had dumped Pahceco) and hopefully Agger but it was dangerous to think that Napoli were an "easy touch" Thursday, with Cole Injured it cries out for Pacheco to come in OR to give Jovanavic another game (as he seemd to have a couple of good runs in Naples) ..but I really think Stevie & Nando should be at least on the bench and get 30 minutes , so that perhaps we finish the game with something the line up we ought to play against Chelski...

starting something like ; Pepe; - Kelly , Carra , Agger Fabio - Johnson , Shelvey, Pacheco, - Jovanovic Babel Ngog with Meireles or Lucas ; SG & Torres coming on for the last half hour, I am not sure about Sotos v Chelski - depending if Agger is fit enough , as we need a bit more nouse & creative foot from the back sunday..  Skrtel played well @ Bolton, my CB pairing when fit & on form would be Agger/Carra or Agger/Skrtel, (later news says Agger is still "injured")
